The 1794-IH16 module handles demanding 125 Volt DC industrial signals with precision. It accepts a nominal on-state input voltage of 125 Volts DC. The module detects signals between a minimum of 90 Volts DC and a maximum of 146 Volts DC. This wide operating range ensures reliable switching even with fluctuating power supplies. Its maximum off-state voltage sits at 20 Volts DC for clean state differentiation.

Electrical Current Specifications and Power Handling

This module draws a nominal on-state input current of just 2 mA at 125 Volts DC. The minimum on-state current required for detection is 1 mA. The maximum on-state input current reaches 3 mA for robust signal integrity. The module limits off-state leakage to a maximum of 0.8 mA. Its maximum power dissipation is 6 Watts at 146 Volts DC voltage. The thermal dissipation reaches 20.47 BTU per hour at 146 Volts DC.

The 1794-IH16 carries the critical North American Hazardous Location Approval rating. This certification confirms safe operation in dangerous industrial environments. It allows deployment in areas with potentially explosive gases or dusts. This approval makes the module suitable for oil, gas, and chemical processing plants. Engineers can confidently install it in Class I, Division 2 locations.

The module measures 3.7 x 3.7 x 2.7 inches when installed on a terminal base. Its uninstalled dimensions are 1.8 x 3.7 x 2.1 inches for compact storage. The module mounts directly onto compatible FLEX I/O terminal bases. It requires a 1794 series base like the 1794-TB3 for operation. This design allows for dense channel packing within control panels.

Compatibility and System Integration

This digital input module works with several 1794 series terminal bases. Compatible bases include the 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S, 1794-TB3K, and 1794-TB3SK. These bases provide the necessary backplane connection and wiring terminals. The 1794-TB3 terminal base supports daisy-chaining for supply voltage distribution. It draws 640 mA at 5VDC from the FlexBus backplane.
