The new panel generation offers faster boot times and native Profinet IRT support, improving production line availability in continuous processes like oil refining.

Assessing Your Current HMI Panel Setup

Three key technical parameters influence the migration effort:

  • Response Time: The legacy resistive touch screen averages 20 ms, while modern capacitive panels achieve 5 ms. This difference reduces operator selection errors on fast packaging lines.
  • Environmental Tolerance: The old panel supports IP65 and operates between 0–50 °C. New replacements offer IP66 and –20 to 60 °C, extending lifespan in outdoor compressor stations.
  • Protocol Compatibility: The 6AV2123-2GB03-0AX0 uses Profibus DP natively, whereas newer models require a Profinet gateway or firmware adaptation. Verify your existing PLC’s network interface before ordering the replacement.
