The Bently Nevada 3500/60-01-02 is a high-integrity temperature monitor module designed for continuous machinery protection. It accepts signals from up to six RTD or thermocouple transducers, providing critical temperature data for industrial rotating assets. Core Technical Specifications & Parameters

The 3500/60-01-02 module is a non-isolated I/O module with internal terminations and ATEX/IECEx/CSA approval for Zone 2 areas. It accepts signals from one to six RTD or TC transducer inputs with an input impedance of 10 MΩ for each lead. The module consumes a nominal power of 7 watts during standard operation.

This monitor supports a wide variety of temperature sensors. For Type E thermocouples, the range spans from -100 °C to +1000 °C. Type J thermocouples cover -18 °C to +760 °C, while Type K ranges from -18 °C to +1370 °C. Type T thermocouples measure from -160 °C to +400 °C.

For RTD sensors, the module supports 100Ω platinum RTDs with an alpha of 0.00385, covering -200 °C to +850 °C. With external barriers, this range adjusts to -50 °C to +850 °C. The 100Ω platinum RTD with alpha 0.00392 measures from -200 °C to +700 °C. The 120Ω nickel RTD covers -80 °C to +260 °C, and the 10Ω copper RTD spans -100 °C to +260 °C.

The module provides a recorder output of +4 to +20 mA proportional to the full-scale value. Individual recorder values are available for each channel, and monitor operation remains unaffected by short circuits on these outputs. The front panel features an OK LED, a TX/RX LED, and a Bypass LED for status indication.

The operating temperature range for the 3500/60-01-02 is -30 °C to +65 °C when used with internal or external termination I/O modules. Storage temperature limits are -40 °C to +85 °C. The monitor module dimensions are 241.3 mm by 24.4 mm by 241.8 mm, with a weight of 0.91 kg.

Accuracy for internal termination in a non-isolated bulkhead rack is ±3 °C at 25 °C. For external termination in a standard rack, accuracy improves to ±1 °C at 25 °C. The cold junction compensation sensor for TC measurements offers an accuracy of ±1 °C at 25 °C. Alarm setpoints are adjustable from 0 to 100 percent of full-scale for each measured value.

Professional Installation & Wiring Guidelines

Begin installation by ensuring the 3500 rack is powered down completely. Insert the 3500/60-01-02 module into a single full-height front slot within the rack. The corresponding I/O module occupies one full-height rear slot for proper connection.

Connect the RTD or thermocouple transducer leads to the appropriate terminals on the I/O module. For 3-wire RTDs, two current supplies are used, while 4-wire RTDs use a single supply. The RTD current source value is 925 ±15 µA at 25 °C per transducer.

Ensure all wiring is secure and free from shorts before applying power. The module automatically communicates with other modules in the rack upon startup. Verify the OK LED illuminates to confirm proper operation. Configure alarm setpoints using the software interface for desired Alert and Danger thresholds.
